Welcome to "The Panel". This week is a special edition where you will get the chance to understand and learn about some of Whyville's most influential minds and citizens that are our resident panelists.

Since the beginning of the series we have covered topics that range from Whyville Senate, Peals and even the American Elections. However, this could not happen if it wasn't for the much appreciated time and dedication that our resident panelists contribute every issue.

So, for this special edition I would like to take the opportunity to just focus on them for a change, instead of everything else going on around them.

Our original panelists and still existing panelists are Wicked777, Holiday50, Rex13, Peachadee and ooooopppp. Also we have a special guest who has stepped in on two occasions to voice his opinion in replace of the absence of a panelist. Ferrari5x has not only been a keen opinionated person, he has also been a voice that is truly appreciated.

I was fortunate enough to catch up with all our panelists this week for an interview that describes who they really are.

Peachadee is Whyville's current Senator along with Willis4 and Ps2man1. Peachadee who goes by the name Lauren in real life enjoys writing and singing. She has been on Whyville since 2006 and she hasn't wasted anytime.

Jank03: How and when did you discover Whyville?
Peachadee: When I was a camp counselor, one of my girls told me about Whyville. I decided to check it out because I promised her I would . . . I ended up LOVING it :).
Jank03: How old are you?
Peachadee: 20
Jank03: Are you a very opinionated person?
Peachadee: I love to hear and understand all kinds of ideas . . . but once I have made up my mind, it will take a lot to persuade me in the other direction.
Jank03: What country are you from?
Peachadee: USA
Jank03: You have produced a few articles for the Whyville Times, when did you discover you could write?
Peachadee: I would say my "talent" for writing (if you can call it that) was first noticed when I was in second grade.
Jank03: Have you grown up with Whyville? Has it had a big impact on your life outside of Whyville?
Peachadee: I wouldn't say I have grown up here . . . it has only been my "online home" for the past two years. It has not, in any way, impacted my real life. i keep real life and Whyville completely separate. Only my family and close friends even know that I play here.
Jank03: Last but not least, do you like being a panelist?!
Peachadee: I love being a panelist. Thank you for the opportunity, Jank :)

We are lucky enough to be able to talk to some of the panelists' friends on just how great of peeople they are.

Clarient: I have to say that Peachadee is a great Senator. She is also a good friend to many Whyville citizens. She is also a wonderful role model. She is a great designer too. Peachadee makes good friends with anyone on Whyville. She is generous and giving. She is one of the nicest Whyvillians I have ever met.

Ferrari5x has been a keen Times Writer and a passionate citizen of Whyville since he first joined in 2004.

Jank03: How and when did you discover Whyville?
Ferrari5x: In my best friend's kitchen, in late summer of 2004. My two friends were talking about their face in Pick Your Nose, I asked what it was and it all started from there. All I remember is that the groovy bus said "Weather: Sunny," I looked out the window and said, "Yeah, it's pretty sunny." Both my friends looked at me like I was crazy.
Jank03: How old are you?
Ferrari5x: 15, I'll be 16 in a month or so.
Jank03: Are you a very opinionated person?
Ferrari5x: Yes, I form opinions, I just don't avidly enforce them.
Jank03: What country are you from?
Ferrari5x: USA
Jank03: You have produced a few articles for the Whyville Times, when did you discover you could write?
Ferrari5x: I guess in fifth grade, when my teacher told me I wrote like I was in Junior High. It was my freshman English teacher, though, who best taught me how to use emotion in my writing.
Jank03: Have you grown up with Whyville? Has it had a big impact on your life outside of Whyville?
Ferrari5x: I can't say I haven't. I used to use Whyville to talk with my friends, I keep the two lives separate now, though. It's helped me express myself, especially through writing. It's probably had a much greater effect on my English than my math and science grades, I'm quite satisfied.
Jank03: Last but not least, do you like being a panelist?! Ferrari5x: Of course--that is, when I get the opportunity.

And this is what Eden had to say about her friend John.

Eden: John's a pretty cool guy . He has the coolest Whyface of anyone I know. And he can also make you laugh; hard.

Holiday50 is a renowned Times Writer who has been on Whyville since 2004. Holiday50 is a keen Y-mail Helper and seeks to help anyone in need of assistance. It is with great pleasure that I was able to interview her about who she really is.

Jank03: How and when did you discover Whyville?
Holiday50: I discovered Whyville in 2003. All of the students at my school had accounts so I made one too.
Jank03: How old are you?
Holiday50: I am 16 years old.
Jank03: Are you a very opinionated person?
Holiday50: I wouldn't say that I'm very opinionated. I voice my opinion when I feel I need to.
Jank03: What country are you from?
Holiday50: I'm from Canada.
Jank03: You have produced a few articles for the Whyville Times, when did you discover you could write?
Holiday50: In Kindergarten when I wrote my name for the very first time, I discovered that I could write!! Just kidding. But I really did discover that I could write at school. I enjoyed reading books and that inspired me to write my own stories. Also, my teachers emphasized the importance of being a good writer, by making us write creative stories, journals, etc.
Jank03: Have you grown up with Whyville? Has it had a big impact on your life outside of Whyville?
Holiday50: I've been on Whyville for 5 years now so I guess I've grown up with it. I try to keep Whyville and my life separate, but Whyville has made a small impact on my life. I've met so many people with different personalities and it's helped me to look at people differently and to understand them better.
Jank03: Last but not least, do you like being a panelist?!
Holiday50: Yes! It's fun and interesting. It's also thought provoking.

I caught up with Eden a very good friend of Holiday50 earlier this week and this is what she had to say.

Eden: Jess is something else. If anyone in Whyville ever has a question, they can ask Jess. She will know. She knows everything about Whyville. She also knows things like 84x7, and how to spell "specifically". She's a genius.

Rex13 is known for his amazing writing skills and excellent designing abilities. He has visited Whyville since 2004 and has enjoyed every bit.

Jank03: How and when did you discover Whyville?
Rex13: I discovered Whyville from a friend at my Elementary schools computer lab.
Jank03: How old are you?
Rex13: I'm 14 now.
Jank03: Are you a very opinionated person?
Rex13: Depends on the subject. If I've never heard of the subject then no.
Jank03: What country are you from?
Rex13: I'm from the USA.
Jank03: You have produced a few articles for the Whyville Times, when did you discover you could write?
Rex13: I discovered I could write probably the first month I joined Whyville. I didn't write because I didn't have an e-mail, typing skills, and a vocabulary.
Jank03: Have you grown up with Whyville? Has it had a big impact on your life outside of Whyville?
Rex13: Yeah I have grown up with Whyville. It had a impact on my life outside of Whyville. I learned a lot from the games and learned about people. Many of my friends in real life would argue saying who was richer and stuff.
Jank03: Last but not least, do you like being a panelist?!
Rex13: Being a panelist is still one of the reasons I'm still coming on to Whyville.

One of Rex13's friends Ps2man1 had something to say about his friend when he was asked to comment.

Ps2man1: James is a cool mate and it's been fun to know him.

Wicked777 has produced many great article for the Whyville Times over the time she has spent on Whyville. After joining in 2007 Wicked777 has prospered into a distinguished Times Writer.

Jank03: How and when did you discover Whyville?
Wicked777: A friend recommended it to me when I was about eleven years old.
Jank03: How old are you?
Wicked777: Fourteen
Jank03: Are you a very opinionated person?
Wicked777: I can be, but I try to keep an open mind.
Jank03: What country are you from?
Wicked777: The United States.
Jank03: You have produced a few articles for the Whyville Times, when did you discover you could write?
Wicked777: Never have, don't think I ever will. I try to write, but I'm nowhere near being good at it. That's not me being modest or anything - it's just true.
Jank03: Have you grown up with Whyville? Has it had a big impact on your life outside of Whyville?
Wicked777: In some ways. Most of the things I do in school relate to Whyville in some way or another. It's been a huge help in science class.
Jank03: Last but not least, do you like being a panelist?!
Wicked777: If I didn't, I wouldn't be typing this. I like putting my opinion out there and seeing how the world responds.

Some of you may know Msof57 from the BBS or the articles of which she has produced recently, but to Wicked777 Msof57 is someone she calls a dear friend.

Msof57: Wicked has always been a really good friend. She makes me laugh and I always enjoy reading her articles. Her poetry is absolutely beautiful too. I'm looking forward to the day when we'll run into each other in a chatroom!

Ooooopppp first joined Whyville in 2005 and has made a significant mark already. His laughing and joking character has not only made him a well known name it has made him many friend a long the way. He has been nominated for WITS in the past and hopefully we can see much more from this unique person.

Jank03: How and when did you discover Whyville?
Ooooopppp: In 2003, got bored and decided to type "Whoville" from The Grinch movie into a search engine and above the links it said "Did you mean "Whyville?" so went there and joined to see what it was all about.
Jank03: How old are you?
Ooooopppp: Sixteen while writing this, seventeen by the time the next issue of the Times is out.
Jank03: Are you a very opinionated person?
Ooooopppp: In ooooopppp's opinion, yes.
Jank03: What country are you from?
Ooooopppp: The United States of America. WOOOOOOOOO.
Jank03: How do you feel about being one of Whyville's most respected Whyvillians? After all you are a classic!
Ooooopppp: Feel like . . . Wow, people respect ooooopppp for the avatar and nonsense? It's awesome to be respected for showing no respect and being a idiot all the time!
Jank03: Have you grown up with Whyville? Has it had a big impact on your life outside of Whyville?
Ooooopppp: Sort of. It's been with ooooopppp since being 11. Since then, it helped ooooopppp realize that whether you're popular on a website or in real life, or not, ooooopppp had the pair to stand up to all kinds of people outside of Whyville the entire time without realizing it. Thanks Whyville!
Jank03: Last but not least, do you like being a panelist?!
Ooooopppp: Ooooopppp loves being a panelist more than a fresh foot long sub from Subway. Subway, home of the famous five dollar foot long sub, more food with less of the calories than a McDonald's Big Mac, Subway. Eat Fresh! (Advertisers also paid ooooopppp to say the Canadian slogan "Subway. Think Fresh, Eat Fresh!" and the Greenland slogan "Eat Fresh! Brrr. It's cold here.")

Well after that intriguing interview MrSpoon2, one of ooooopppp's many friends wanted to say something.

MrSpoon2: Well he is a talkative guy he's very smart and kind he's easy to make friends with and he will always answer any questions you put forward to him.

So all in all I would like to thank all of our panelists for their hard work and contributions that they make to this series and Whyville itself. On behalf of all Whyvillians I thank you and wish you the best of luck in your futures.

We all look forward to reading your much appreciated opinions in the upcoming panel articles.

Competition

Considering that this week we are congratulating and celebrating the panelists I have decided to hold a competition. This week we have 3 FFV's up for grabs which have been kindly donated in recognition of "The Panel".

Thank-you to Peachadee, Eden and myself for donating this week's prizes.

All you have to do is answer the question correctly.

Question: What is the combined total of all the panelists ages?
