Every night I leave the light
for better or for worse, behind.
Every day I wake up late
'cause nothing's worth lifting this weight
anymore, anymore.

I think the sun has given up
on streaming through the window,
on screaming in to wake me up.
Nothing's worth this wait
anymore, anymore.

Oh, but I will force my quadriplegic
body free from pleasant dreams
that lie beneath the soothing heat
under the covers with me.

And I will force my hopeless soul
to leave my body just once more
to see your smile light up the sky,
just to see your smile.

Murderers and fire bells can't
shake me from this sleep.
I am cornered, tied and broken.
Everyone's been chosen
but me, but me.

Seems like songs that play for me
slow with every change of key,
like my own feet slip on the street.
Every corner's iced and steep.
I am destined to fall.

Oh, but I will force my quadriplegic
body free from pleasant dreams
that lie beneath the soothing heat
under the covers with me.

And I will force my hopeless soul
to leave my body just once more
to see your smile light up the sky,
just to see your smile.

Maybe there is something for me still,
waiting in the glow behind the hills,
rolling walls in my crusade
to find a something worth this wait.

And maybe you are there for me still.
Well, maybe you are there for me still.
Maybe you are there for me still.
Maybe you are there for me still.
