I decided that since winter is almost here, followed directly by Christmas this week, I would do a Christmas special with a poem, a craft, and my favorite Christmas songs! Also if you have any ideas for next week please let me know.

A Christmas Poem Written By Me:

The night was lit up with tree's everywhere
One small girl with bright blonde hair
Found her way to her window you see
Santa was there and she was happy
She snuck back in bed only to find it the same and her eyes wide
She was so excited!
She could barely close her eyes
But she awoke the next morning at five
She ran to her mother with a huge sense of pride
She opened gifts with a smile on her face and thought . . .
"I'm so lucky to have what I have"
"I saw Santa," she yelled losing her mind
Her mother smiled and with much glee
Sat down next to her and gave her a hug
"I love you sweetie"
"I love you too Mom"
Just then they heard someone say "Ho, ho, ho!"
They looked out the window just in time
To see Santa leaving from behind
"Wow" she said once again with more pride.
"Santa is real" yelled her mother with glee
"I knew it" she said. "It wasn't a dream."

Christmas Activity:

Easy gift bags

What you will need: paper bags, paint, glue.
Optional materials: glitter, sequins, stickers, fabric, sponges, lace, etc.

Directions:

1. Paint your bag whatever color you want. Let bag dry for at least 1 hour.
2. Decorate your bag however you want! You can use any of the optional materials to do this.
3. Glue on everything.
4. Let bag dry for 30 minutes
5. If you want a gift tag, fold down the top of the bag about 2 inches and then punch two holes. Loop a piece of yarn or string through the top. Take a small piece of paper or a tag and punch one hole in the corner then push the yarn or string that on the bag and loop it through the hole in the paper. Then tie the string so the tag doesn't fall off! If you want to decorate your tag, do it before you loop it through the string!

My Favorite Christmas Songs:

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas":

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
gather near to us once more.

> Through the years we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

"I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus":

I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night.
She didn't see me creep
Down the stairs to have a peep;
She thought that I was tucked
Up in my bedroom fast asleep.
Then, I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath his beard so snowy white;
Oh, what a laugh it would have been
If Daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night.

"Rocking Around the Christmas Tree":

Rocking around the Christmas tree
At the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
Every couple tries to stop
Rocking around the Christmas tree,
Let the Christmas spirit ring
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie
And we'll do some caroling.

You will get a sentimental
Feeling when you hear
Voices singing let's be jolly,
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Rocking around the Christmas tree,
Have a happy holiday
Everyone dancing merrily
In the new old-fashioned way

Author's Note: Sorry it was so short this week but I wanted it to be short and simple like short bread!
