It was a foggy, 35 degree day in southern Maine, and I had just signed onto Whyville. I went through the usual routine, read the Times, looked at Akbar's new arrivals, and checked my whymail. I had a whymail from someone I had never talked to before, and I thought, "Cool, maybe they wanna be friends or something." So I clicked it.
