Lifestyle
During the day you can find me swimming over the reef. At night I move away from the reef and look for food in soft, sandy areas. When I was young, I lived in seagrass beds which kept me hidden from bigger fish that wanted to eat me.
Fun Facts
I am exactly what people think of when they think of a fish. I am medium-sized, I swim in large schools, or groups, around the reef, caves, and even shipwrecks. There are lots of me on reefs-I am very common. But people miss how fun I can be. For instance when I want to mate, I will sometimes dance in circles with my partner! Do you dance with people you like, too?
Menu
I love to eat crabs, shrimps, squids, and small fish. I will also dine on microscopic animals called zooplankton, and turf algae. Because I eat both animals and plants, I am an omnivore.
Threats
Many people think I'm delicious! While it's true that I am very tasty, humans must be careful that they don't take too many of me out of the reef! Reefs are in danger, and that means so is my home!
